Role
Senior Backend Engineer (SDE IV) responsible for the design, architecture, and delivery of backend features, components, or products with an emphasis on scalability, reliability, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Own design, architecture, and delivery of features or components with high quality.
- Drive platform innovation and keep systems ahead of the curve.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and non-technical stakeholders to deliver end-to-end products and align strategy with solutions.
- Perform functional, design, and code reviews within and across teams.
- Mentor and coach engineers; provide technical leadership.
- Help managers with effort sizing and estimation.
- Re-prioritize and multitask based on changing requirements and product needs.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent from a premier institute.
- 7–10 years of strong design and development experience building massively large-scale distributed internet systems and products.
- Extensive experience developing and maintaining large-scale systems on cloud platforms.
- Deep understanding of microservices architecture, cloud computing, big data technologies, and NoSQL databases.
- Excellent Java programming skills, including multithreading and performance-oriented programming.
- Strong data structures and algorithms skills.
- Familiarity with open source software, frameworks, and server-side development best practices.
- Strong organization, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills; ability to communicate system-level tradeoffs to stakeholders.
- Self-starter comfortable in high-energy, fast-paced environments; adaptable to changing requirements.
- Willingness to adopt and adapt Gen-AI tools and techniques in problem solving and coding.
Nice to Have
- Experience building data- and insight-powered products.
- Experience in data science and machine learning.
- Experience working with very large-scale data.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience contributing to or navigating open source software (OSS).
- Experience with data security practices.
