(Senior) Agentic/AI Software Engineer (m/w/d) - Fokus Backend (Go / Kotlin)
Explicitly rejects shallow "vibe-coding" and requires deep use of LLMs, prompt/context engineering and agentic AI integration into development workflows.
About the Role
Senior backend engineer to design and build cloud-native, high-performance Go or Kotlin services and drive integration of LLMs and AI tooling into the development lifecycle. You will lead architecture, mentor engineers, ensure quality (performance, security, testing) and make agentic/AI-assisted development a standard in projects.
Job Description
Role
Senior (Agentic/AI) Backend Software Engineer responsible for designing and implementing cloud-native backend systems (Go/Kotlin) and establishing agentic AI development practices. The role combines hands-on backend engineering, architecture, and technical leadership to integrate LLMs and AI tooling into production-grade services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build end-to-end solutions from proof-of-concept to production-ready, scalable services using Go or Kotlin.
- Orchestrate high-performance, cloud-native systems and ensure performance, security, and test coverage.
- Integrate AI-native engineering practices and deep context engineering into development workflows.
- Mentor and technically lead other software engineers, perform code reviews, and promote clean-code paradigms.
- Define and implement APIs (REST and asynchronous APIs) and collaborate with frontend (Vue.js/Angular) and mobile (Kotlin Multiplatform) teams.
- Maintain CI/CD practices and ensure high quality through testing and performance/security validation.
Requirements
- Several years of proven experience building backend systems with Go or Kotlin.
- Formal computer science education or equivalent practical experience.
- Deep knowledge of integrating AI tooling into the development lifecycle (prompt design, context engineering, AI-coding tools, LLM usage).
- Experience in technical leadership or strong mentoring of engineering teams.
- Strong focus on performance, security, CI/CD and test automation.
- Fluent German (business level) and very good English.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with frontend frameworks (Vue.js, Angular) and Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
