Role
Senior AI Application Engineer (Contract) based in Houston, TX. Hands-on AI-first engineer responsible for building and shipping end-to-end AI-powered applications rapidly using agentic coding workflows and LLMs.
Key Responsibilities
- Build end-to-end AI applications rapidly using AI-assisted and agentic coding workflows.
- Use LLMs (Claude, OpenAI, etc.) to generate, refactor, and evolve large portions of the codebase.
- Design and implement RAG pipelines, MCP servers, and agent-based workflows.
- Deliver working prototypes that evolve into production systems with a focus on speed and iteration.
- Collaborate closely in small pods, emphasizing shared ownership and fast delivery.
- Validate, harden, and integrate AI-generated code into reliable, maintainable solutions.
Requirements
- AI-first development mindset with heavy reliance on AI coding agents.
- Recent (last 6–12 months) hands-on experience using tools like Claude, Cursor, or other agentic IDEs.
- Proven ability to build and ship full solutions end to end.
- Experience with GenAI, RAG pipelines, MCP servers, or AI agents.
- Comfortable working in fast-moving, experimental teams with high ownership.
- Required: authorization to work in the U.S. (application question asks about U.S. work authorization).
Preferred
- Backend experience with Python, FastAPI, Node.js, or similar.
- Cloud deployment experience with AWS and/or Azure.
