The role partners with stakeholders to build prioritized AI upskilling workshops, integrate learning into the flow of work, and coach other trainers while contributing code to keep content practical and relevant.

Role
A Senior AI Technical Trainer who designs and delivers practical, hands-on technical training to accelerate adoption of AI and emerging technologies across the IT organization. The role owns department-wide accountability for integrating learning solutions, embedding upskilling into the flow of work, and driving technical enablement across IT personas.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and facilitate prioritized AI and technical skills workshops (in-person and virtual) grounded in adult learning principles.
- Create practical, hands-on learning experiences and integrate Vanguard-specific use cases.
- Code firsthand to maintain technical credibility and create realistic technical exercises.
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders across IT sub-divisions to align learning with prioritized skills and initiatives.
- Strengthen 70/20/10 learning through Communities of Practice and skill guilds and leverage social learning strategies.
- Coach and mentor junior trainers and serve as an informal leader within the department.
- Evaluate training effectiveness using data and recommend continuous improvements.
- Drive AI technical learning strategy and recommend effective solutions for complex AI topics.
- Incorporate gamification and engagement strategies, and support hackathon-style activities.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum of eight years of related work experience, including at least three years of development experience.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience; graduate degree preferred.
- Experience in designing technical training and instructional design; strong facilitation skills for technical audiences.
- Demonstrated technical expertise with AI concepts and tools and eagerness to learn emerging technologies.
- Familiarity with social learning strategies (Communities of Practice, guilds) and experience enabling them.
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, lead during times of need, and align learning priorities with business goals.
