Role
Senior Applied AI Engineer accountable for end-to-end design and delivery of AI and Generative AI systems. Own engagement or workstream outcomes, define success metrics, measure business impact, balance technical debt with speed and scalability, and serve as a trusted technical contact for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Own workstream and engagement outcomes; define success and measure business impact.
- Design AI and GenAI systems end-to-end across the lifecycle and justify key trade-offs.
- Evaluate model performance using operational and business-relevant metrics beyond simple accuracy.
- Lead code reviews, resolve technical disagreements, and explain AI concepts and limitations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor and grow other engineers; contribute reusable components, accelerators, and best practices to improve delivery.
Requirements
- Proven track record delivering AI models, systems, and products to production in a consultancy or AI-driven product organisation.
- Strong programming skills (Python and related technologies), system design, and testing methodologies.
- Experience integrating models / LLMs and deploying on cloud platforms (AWS and/or Databricks) with solid CI/CD practices.
- Ability to own delivery, manage stakeholders, and guide other engineers with confidence.
Desirable
- Depth in a specialty such as GenAI/ML (including RAG and agentic workflows), Data Science, Data Engineering, Full-Stack/Product, or Platform/MLOps.
- AWS and/or Databricks certifications.
- Experience with responsible-AI practices and production monitoring.
