Role
Senior Backend Engineer (Go) at Recare Deutschland GmbH. Own a domain in the core Golang backend, contribute to architecture and code quality, and build secure, scalable features and API integrations that support hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and care providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Own a domain inside the Go codebase and make architectural decisions within that area.
- Contribute to pull requests, code reviews, and technical discussions as a senior voice.
- Step in and take ownership when leads are unavailable and mentor other engineers as an individual contributor.
- Ship features reliably against the team’s roadmap, break down tasks, and remove blockers.
- Build and maintain secure communication capabilities, including end-to-end encrypted message and data flows.
- Work on database performance, profiling, and backend optimizations; automate repetitive tasks and improve internal tooling.
- Use AI tooling to accelerate prototyping, code review, and developer productivity where appropriate.
Requirements
- 4–5+ years of professional software development experience; CS degree or equivalent knowledge.
- Production experience in Golang or a C-family language with demonstrated ability to work confidently in Go.
- Experience with CI/testing frameworks and DevOps pipelines; comfortable with automated tests and deployable code practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate cross-functionally with product and design.
- Experience mentoring or supporting other engineers; looking for an IC-focused role with technical ownership.
- Comfortable with database optimisation, caching, build pipelines, and performance profiling.
- Healthcare domain experience (FHIR, HL7, DICOM) is a plus but not required.
- Genuine curiosity about AI-assisted development and how AI can improve engineering workflows.
