Role
Senior VDC/BIM Technical Support (Revit) responsible for front-end project setup, maintaining comprehensive multi-discipline 3D models (MEP, structural, architectural), implementing client standards, managing the Common Data Environment (CDE), and delivering project BIM deliverables with workflow support.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up base files, templates, and project coordinates according to client/company standards.
- Author, implement, and maintain BIM Execution Plans (BxP) and BIM documentation.
- Manage CDE configuration and permissions for design software.
- Run and enforce clash detection and resolution processes; produce clash reports and manage point cloud files.
- Plan and perform model audits and health checks across projects.
- Create automations and data extraction processes to minimize re-entry and manage an internal software/automation library.
- Troubleshoot design software issues; research, test, and roll out software upgrades and new workflows.
- Create and manage content libraries, families, and shared parameters.
- Facilitate BIM meetings, training, and maintain relations with clients, AEs, trades, and GCs.
- Mentor junior specialists and support day-to-day BIM activities on projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent; 10+ years of BIM/3D CAD experience in a professional firm is desired.
- Advanced capability with two or more model authoring tools (examples: Revit, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Inventor).
- Experience with VDC/BIM applications (examples: Navisworks Manage, ReCap, Autodesk application plugins such as IDEATE BimLink or Model Explorer).
- Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud or BIM 360, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), BlueBeam, and SharePoint.
- Demonstrated ability to perform advanced software functions, set/maintain project coordinates, and manage interoperability between software exchanges.
- Experience with automation within design platforms and understanding of software/API customization is desired.
- Strong communication, facilitation, presentation skills, and understanding of design and construction processes; ability to work across time zones and during late evening hours.
