Role
Senior Creative Technologist (Search) focused on developing prototypes and production-ready implementations that bring design concepts to life for Google Search. You will partner with researchers, designers, interaction and motion designers, and engineers to test concepts, validate interactions, and push the boundaries of user interface design.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceive and deliver engaging, testable prototypes across a portfolio of products.
- Collaborate with researchers and designers to define features, run usability studies, and iterate on concepts.
- Create high-quality animations, motion, and interaction patterns that communicate design intent and meet implementation constraints.
- Advocate for users and drive systems-thinking approaches across platforms and applications.
- Work closely with engineers to explore production stack capabilities and deliver production-ready prototype code.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience in front-end development, technical UX design, or prototyping.
- Experience with web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Experience with vibe coding tools such as AI Studio, Cursor, Antigravity, or Firebase Studio.
- Experience in motion design related to physics, patterns, and visual design elements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in technical leadership and managing projects.
- Experience developing with front-end native iOS technologies (Swift) and Android.
- Experience working with front-end engineering teams on native app UIs.
- Experience with hosted back-ends (e.g., Firebase, Supabase) to power prototypes.
- Familiarity working across full tech stacks and production environments.
Location & Compensation
- Preferred work locations: San Francisco, CA; Mountain View, CA; New York, NY.
- US base salary range (full-time): $151,000 - $222,000 (base only; additional bonus, equity, and benefits available).
