Specifically calls out "semantic vibe coding" efficiencies and mentions GitHub Copilot — combines vibe coding practices with AI-assisted tooling.

About the Role

Senior Data Scientist role leading design and implementation of statistical and AI/ML solutions to support an AI-powered product safety Sentinel model. The role focuses on semantic analysis, model development and evaluation, scalable cloud deployment, and translating insights into actionable product safety decisions.

Job Description

Role

Senior Data Scientist responsible for designing and implementing advanced statistical and AI/ML solutions to extract actionable insights, perform semantic analysis, and support an AI-powered product safety Sentinel model that reduces time to intervention.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leverage semantic analysis and “vibe coding” efficiencies to uncover patterns from structured and unstructured data and translate findings into clear narratives via data storytelling and visualization.
  • Design, develop, and maintain AI techniques (e.g., product similarity) and predictive models (supervised and unsupervised) for anomaly detection, classification, regression, and pattern recognition.
  • Rigorously evaluate model performance using metrics such as precision, recall, F1-score, and AUC to ensure reliability and fairness.
  • Apply innovative approaches and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and interpretability of solutions.
  • Build and optimize automated pipelines and CI/CD workflows for scalable cloud deployment.
  • Collaborate in Agile teams using Git-based version control to support iterative delivery and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years designing and developing statistical and AI/ML models, including regression, classification, NLP, and predictive analytics.
  • 3+ years hands-on Python experience, including Pandas and Scikit-learn; experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • 3+ years working in cloud environments (Azure); relevant certifications are a plus.
  • 2+ years using SQL for data querying and manipulation.
  • Advanced proficiency with dashboard and visualization tools (Power BI or equivalent).
  • Experience integrating semantic coding techniques into ML workflows.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for data storytelling.
  • Experience with Git-based version control, automated pipelines, and CI/CD in collaborative Agile environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s, Ph.D., or equivalent professional experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.

Clearance & Location

  • Location: Arlington, VA (USA). Remote type: Hybrid.
  • Current Public Trust clearance desired; candidate must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance prior to starting.

Tools & Environment

  • Explicit mention of Python (Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow), SQL, Power BI, Azure, Git/GitHub, GitHub Copilot, automated pipelines, and CI/CD.
