Senior Developer, Reliability Engineering

Role

Senior Developer, Reliability Engineering responsible for operating at the intersection of systems administration and software development to automate and improve production software and infrastructure for capacity, resiliency, and reduced operational toil. The role includes team leadership of developers in the US and offshore and close collaboration with development, infrastructure, and third-party vendors.

Key Responsibilities

• Incorporate AI solutions to collect and share data firm-wide and scale team capacity and efficiency
• Automate and improve Incident, Problem, and Change processes
• Build telemetry and observability solutions
• Automate complex workflows and analyze effort patterns for optimization and toil reduction
• Plan, lead, supervise, and optimize production software and infrastructure for capacity and resiliency
• Rationalize tooling portfolio (retire legacy tooling; determine build vs. buy)
• Manage and mentor a team across regions and coordinate cross-functional work

Requirements

• 5+ years professional experience supporting a trading business or within financial services preferred
• Experience leading a support, development, or SRE team; familiarity with Agile/Lean methodologies, coaching, and cross‑region coordination
• Strong focus on automation to reduce manual intervention and improve efficiency
• Software development and scripting experience in at least one major language; Python and/or Java preferred (C, C#, C++ also acceptable)
• Familiar with modern development practices: AI-assisted coding (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor), pair/mob programming, version control with Git, automated testing, and CI/CD
• Experience with TypeScript and modern JavaScript patterns and React component development
• Proficiency with major RDBMS and ability to write queries and understand basic database design (examples: Oracle, Snowflake, PostgreSQL)
• Basic Terraform knowledge for reading and writing infrastructure-as-code
• System and network administration and troubleshooting skills (Unix and Windows); familiarity with cloud technologies and infrastructure components (Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, routers, load balancers, compute, storage, networks)
• Proven incident troubleshooting and end-to-end incident management experience in high-pressure trading environments
• Understanding of ITIL concepts (Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration management)
• Strong interpersonal skills, proactive planning, ownership, and continuous improvement mindset

Compensation

• Base salary and discretionary bonus model. Salary range provided: $150,000 - $240,000.
