Role
Senior Director, Product Design - Ecosystem will own and continuously refine the design vision for Slack’s developer platform, shaping how agents and apps are built, managed, discovered, and integrated by partners. This is a player-coach role: you will both lead and grow a small team of platform designers and remain hands-on in design work.
Key Responsibilities
- Hold and refine the long-range design vision for the platform in partnership with product and engineering leadership
- Drive end-to-end platform design across the developer lifecycle: agent capabilities in Slack, agent creation, installation and management, and marketplace discovery
- Shape partner experiences for third-party providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Cognition, GitHub) to bring agents into Slack’s ecosystem
- Contribute directly to design work as a player-coach and set craft standards for the team
- Recruit, grow, and develop the platform design team, owning staffing and career development
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of product design experience, including work on developer-facing or highly technical products
- Experience managing and growing design teams
- Hands-on experience with AI and vibe-coding tools and a solid understanding of developer workflows
- Proven track record partnering with product and engineering leadership to define product direction through design
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing marketplace or agent-discovery experiences
- Experience integrating third-party agentic experiences into a product
- Experience designing collaborative or multiplayer use cases
- Deep familiarity with Slack’s platform surfaces and ecosystem
Compensation & Benefits
- Typical base salary range: $218,400 - $365,200 annually
- In select San Francisco and New York City metropolitan areas: $263,200 - $401,400 annually
