Role
Senior Forward Deployed Engineers (FDE) act as the primary technical owners for customer engagements, bridging enterprise customer environments and MongoDB’s product teams. The FDE designs, builds, and troubleshoots production-grade integrations and is accountable for helping customers reach production.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical owner for customer engagements from discovery through production rollout.
- Understand customer architectures, constraints, and success criteria and drive toward those outcomes.
- Build connectors, pipelines, and supporting tooling to integrate MongoDB into enterprise environments.
- Write production-quality code, debug failures, and implement fixes directly in active workstreams.
- Capture precise product feedback (logs, repro steps, proposed paths forward) and document technical decisions and tradeoffs.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to turn field patterns into reusable product capabilities and contribute to focused workstreams.
- Coordinate across internal teams and customer stakeholders and communicate clearly with technical, business, and executive audiences.
Requirements
- 5–8 years of engineering experience.
- Hands-on production engineering experience: writing code, debugging, and implementing fixes.
- Experience developing and deploying software within enterprise environments and shipping production solutions at scale.
- Experience building integrations across existing systems and infrastructure.
- Strong troubleshooting and code review skills with the ability to identify root causes and drive resolution.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% for on-site engagements, technical reviews, and presentations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering experience in AI and agentic development.
- Experience with LLMs, agent frameworks, or deploying AI systems in production.
- Prior experience in a forward-deployed engineering (FDE) or similar role.
Work model & Location
- Hybrid working model; candidates should be based in Gurugram for the hybrid arrangement.
- Up to 30% travel to customer sites as needed.
