Role
SSOE is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to participate in the design of industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities. The role focuses on producing detailed engineering designs, specifications, drawings, and models for mechanical systems and ensuring projects meet technical requirements and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed engineering designs, technical project plans, specifications, drawings, and models.
- Design and finalize systems including industrial and domestic piping, plumbing, chillers, boilers, HVAC ducting, exhaust, motor control, and fire protection.
- Perform mechanical system calculations (heat analysis, pipe-stress, pump head curves, pressure drop, energy consumption) and equipment selection and sizing.
- Apply standard engineering techniques with judgment for adaptations and ensure compliance with company CAD/design standards.
- Collaborate with designers, engineers, project managers, and other disciplines to coordinate design packages and mitigate integration risks.
- Facilitate internal and external design review meetings and manage QA of deliverables.
- Conduct field verifications/site walks, troubleshoot in-field issues, and incorporate solutions into designs.
- Manage technical inquiries, submittal reviews, and RFI responses; maintain version control and support procurement/installation coordination.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s degree a plus.
- 8 to 12 years of relevant experience; proven experience on industrial and HVAC projects required; semiconductor experience strongly preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
- Experience with steam system and plumbing design is advantageous.
- Demonstrated mentoring experience and ability to lead large-scale projects.
Technical Skills & Tools
- Mandatory: AutoCAD, Revit.
- Helpful: Navisworks, PIPE-FLO or similar hydraulic modeling tools.
- Mechanical design experience with HVAC, chillers, boilers, pump hydraulics, exhaust and other industrial/building systems.
- Strong knowledge of ASHRAE standards and familiarity with NFPA codes and applicable state/local building codes.
AI & Innovation
- The team provides responsible access to AI Large Language Models and vibe-coding platforms and offers training to integrate AI tools into workflows for productivity and design support.
Work Schedule
- Work timings: Morning 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM IST and evening 08:00 PM to 12:00 AM IST.
