Senior Process Engineer and Office Leader responsible for leading process utility design for advanced semiconductor and high‑tech industrial projects and serving as the visible leader for a local office. The role combines technical leadership on complex process systems (UPW, specialty gas, chemical distribution), project delivery in a design‑build environment, mentorship of engineering teams, client-facing responsibilities, and oversight of office culture, facilities, and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for process engineering across project phases from concept and PFD development to detailed P&IDs, isometrics, equipment specifications, and construction documentation.
- Lead hydraulic calculations, friction loss analysis, pump and heat exchanger sizing, NPSH, pressure drop, thermal expansion, and surge analysis; perform steady‑state and transient hydraulic modeling and pipe stress analysis.
- Ensure multidisciplinary coordination, constructability, QA/QC, peer reviews, and adherence to safety, purity, and industry standards.
- Mentor and develop junior and mid‑level engineers; build and maintain process engineering standards, templates, and P&ID libraries.
- Serve as an approachable office leader: cultivate inclusive culture, drive staff development and career pathing, manage office facilities and budgets, and organize technical knowledge‑sharing activities.
- Lead client relationship development, participate in pursuit and proposal efforts, represent the firm at industry events, and coordinate with vendors, regulators, and contractors.
AI and Innovation
- Support and accelerate adoption of AI and digital tools: responsible access to AI Large Language Models and vibe‑coding platforms, with training to integrate AI into workflows for productivity and design innovation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited program.
- 10+ years of process engineering experience focused on semiconductors, cleanroom, or similarly complex process utility design.
- Proven leadership guiding internal process engineering teams through all project phases in a design‑build delivery model.
- Demonstrated office leadership or people management experience and strong client‑facing, presentation, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with codes, standards, safety and material compatibility for high‑purity systems; experience with hydraulic and pipe stress analysis and P&ID development.
- PE license in the U.S. preferred; ability to obtain reciprocity or multi‑state licensure is highly valued.

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of sustainable process design practices (UPW reclaim/recycle, waste heat recovery) and familiarity with LEED or equivalent frameworks.
- Track record on fast‑track, large‑scale integrated design‑build projects, early contractor involvement, modular procurement, and leading organizational change including adoption of AI tools.
