Senior Product Designer
Actively uses AI assistants and requires daily AI tool use; designing AI-augmented interfaces and conversational experiences tied to the product model.
About the Role
Design the unified UI/UX for a programmable, multi-domain health and lifestyle platform, creating consistent interaction patterns and reusable components across domains while integrating AI-augmented interfaces and conversational flows to make complex data feel simple and personal.
Job Description
Role
Senior Product Designer responsible for designing a unified, coherent experience layer for a programmable, multi-domain health and lifestyle platform. You will translate existing templates, planning engines, and personalized program models into consistent UI/UX patterns and design how AI capabilities integrate with structured flows and conversational interfaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Design core UI/UX patterns for a programmable multi-domain system (templates, planning, personalized programs).
- Create consistent interaction models that work across diverse data domains (genetics, labs, nutrition, environment, symptoms, lifestyle, etc.).
- Design input experiences, program creation and management flows, and visualization patterns that are lightweight and coherent.
- Build modular, reusable design patterns and component libraries that scale from consumer to professional/clinical use cases.
- Design AI-augmented interfaces: AI-assisted data categorization/enrichment, AI-powered nutrition lookup and analysis, AI-enhanced analytics and insights, and in-app AI chat interfaces.
- Design user experience for AI capabilities delivered through platform-specific skills and chat/tool-use interfaces, defining when to use structured flows versus AI-driven conversational approaches.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and technical leadership and iterate using qualitative feedback and quantitative data.
Requirements
- 5+ years product design experience for complex, data-rich, or multi-domain applications.
- Demonstrated first-principles design ability to extract core patterns from domain-specific tools and synthesize unified experiences.
- Experience designing on top of systems with underlying models (templates, planning engines, rules, programmable elements).
- Strong visual and interaction design skills and a history of creating coherent systems rather than isolated screens.
- Proficiency in Figma and experience building scalable, reusable design patterns and libraries.
- High fluency with modern AI tools and active daily use of AI (examples given: Claude, OpenAI, Grok, Gemini, Lovable) to accelerate design work; prepared to show concrete examples of AI materially increasing output.
Nice to Haves
- Background in digital health, quantified self, behavior change, research tools, or other complex personal data domains.
- Experience designing both consumer-facing and professional/B2B or clinical/research interfaces.
- Familiarity with planning engines, templates, or agentic AI systems under the hood.
- Experience designing conversational interfaces, AI agents, or human-AI collaboration patterns.
- Strong presentation and storytelling skills.
Hiring Process
- Intro conversation with the founder.
- Portfolio review and design discussion with founder and team members.
- Take-home design exercise focused on coherent, reusable experiences across multiple data domains including AI features.
- Final conversation to review the exercise and discuss working together.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $140,000 - $160,000 per year.
- Benefits include 401(k), 401(k) matching, health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off.
- Compensation package may include performance bonus, stock options, and yearly pay.
Location & Work Model
- Hybrid remote role based in Raleigh, NC (Raleigh, NC 27614 required commute).
