Role
As a Senior Product Designer at HackerRank you’ll own the end-to-end experience for a product area focused on next-generation hiring. You will identify problems worth solving and design high-quality, user-centered solutions that blend fundamental UI paradigms with AI-powered capabilities for developer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Own design through the product lifecycle from ideation to interaction and visual design.
- Design and ship features that balance UI best practices with AI-powered experiences.
- Proactively research and prototype ideas, adopting new tools to shorten concept-to-delivery timelines.
- Stay current on best-in-class developer experiences and apply those insights.
- Partner closely with engineering, product management, AI research, and design peers to define strategy and tactics.
- Manage competing priorities, make decisions in ambiguity, and contribute to the product and design culture.
- Deeply care about end-to-end user journeys and the quality of micro-interactions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on industry experience as a product designer.
- At least 3 years working on fast-moving enterprise or prosumer products.
- Demonstrated portfolio of excellent visual, UI, and interaction design skills.
- Experience collaborating with AI to build a product or tool; must provide an example of how you used AI and the decisions you made.
- Experience working with Codex, Claude, or Cursor alongside Figma and other creative tools.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on ambiguous problems, balance design standards with new AI paradigms, and ship high-quality products in a self-directed manner.
Preferred / Cultural Fit
- Passion for raising the bar on user experience, UI paradigms, and product polish.
- Comfort working on consumer or prosumer features where micro-interactions drive engagement.
- Experience incorporating AI into design workflows and orchestrating AI models as part of product experiences.
