Senior GCP Engineer (hands-on) responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and optimizing cloud-based data solutions on Google Cloud Platform. The role emphasizes scalable data warehousing, transformation pipelines, workflow orchestration, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD for data workloads. The position requires onsite work from Pleasanton.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Work hands-on with BigQuery for data warehousing and analytics use cases.
- Develop and manage relational workloads using AlloyDB.
- Build and maintain data transformation pipelines using dbt.
- Orchestrate workflows using Cloud Composer / Apache Airflow.
- Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data and cloud workloads.
- Write efficient SQL queries for data modeling, transformation, and reporting.
- Follow modern development practices including vibe coding and clean code standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure performance, security, scalability, and reliability of GCP solutions.
Requirements
- 15+ years of overall IT experience with strong hands-on development expertise.
- Strong foundation experience in Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Advanced SQL skills and experience writing efficient queries for modeling and reporting.
- Hands-on experience with BigQuery and experience working with AlloyDB.
- Strong experience with dbt for data transformations.
- Workflow orchestration experience using Cloud Composer / Airflow.
- Infrastructure automation experience using Terraform.
- Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines for data/cloud workloads.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills; excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Must be a hands-on developer (no pure coordination role).
