Job Description

Role

Senior Software Developer based in Melbourne responsible for transforming the Melbourne office into a self-sustaining product engineering hub. The role is product-led and expects a strategic full-stack developer who will own Australian business-hour delivery, unblock local initiatives, and act as a high-velocity technical resource for executive and marketing stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary developer resource for CEO and Marketing to execute high-priority, rapid-turnaround tasks.
  • Lead AI initiatives by building applications and automation suites using Claude Code and current LLM models.
  • Contribute to core squads (Panel or Platform) and handle high-impact tasks such as billing module rewrites (PayPal/WHMCS) and site improvements in Storyblok.
  • Improve and establish local technical documentation and act as the go-to technical lead for the Melbourne team.
  • Provide on-call coverage and maintain reliability during Australian business hours while syncing with the European engineering team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of senior software development experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.

  • Comfortable with timezone flexibility and attending meetings outside regular Australian business hours to coordinate with Europe.
  • Deep architectural expertise in designing secure, scalable, high-performance distributed systems.
  • Experience with AI-native workflows, including Claude Code and LLM prompt engineering.
  • Product-led mindset: able to act as a hybrid Product Owner/Developer and work independently.
  • Familiarity with the gaming industry and server-side hosting mechanics; practical experience with game servers, home labs, or similar.
  • Comfortable in Linux terminal, with experience in sysadmin, networking, or bare-metal orchestration.

Preferred Skills

  • Background in cloud infrastructure or game server orchestration.
  • Experience scaling teams or acting as a technical lead.
  • Passion for automation and “Vibe Coding” to streamline development cycles.

Benefits

  • Hybrid work with flexibility to work from home or the office.
