Role
Senior Software Developer based in Melbourne responsible for acting as the local technical lead and product builder. Own Australian business-hour coverage, unblock local initiatives, work closely with the CEO and Marketing on rapid-turnaround tasks, and drive AI-led automation and prototyping.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as primary developer resource for CEO and Marketing to execute high-priority, fast-turnaround work.
- Lead AI innovation by building applications and automation suites using Claude Code and modern LLMs.
- Full-stack ownership across core squads (Panel or Platform); implement high-impact work such as billing module rewrites (PayPal/WHMCS) and site improvements in Storyblok.
- Improve and establish local technical documentation and act as the Melbourne “go-to” technical lead.
- Provide on-call and reliability coverage during Australian business hours and maintain syncs with the European engineering team.
- Attend meetings outside regular Australian business hours as required to coordinate with Europe.
Requirements
- 5+ years of senior software development experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Melbourne-based and able to work from the Melbourne office ~3 days per week.
- Comfortable adjusting hours for cross-timezone collaboration with a Europe-based core engineering team.
- AI-native workflow experience: Claude Code, LLM prompt engineering, and modern AI development practices.
- Deep architectural and system design expertise; experience building secure, scalable, high-concurrency distributed systems.
- Product-led mindset: able to act as a hybrid Product Owner/Developer and independently identify and implement solutions.
- Independent, proactive, self-managed with strong technical documentation skills.
- Familiarity with gaming industry and hosting/server-side mechanics; experience with Linux, networking, or sysadmin/IT roles.

- Background in cloud infrastructure or game server orchestration.
- Experience scaling or leading technical teams.
