Role
Senior Software Engineer (AI) building AI-powered features and systems for clinical and patient workflows at Midi Health. You’ll design, implement, and operate LLM-driven capabilities that improve clinician and patient experiences while meeting healthcare-grade safety and evaluation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship end-to-end LLM-powered features: prompt design, retrieval, tool integration, agents, evaluation, and production operations.
- Build evaluation harnesses and feedback loops to enable responsible AI launches.
- Integrate AI capabilities into patient-facing, clinician, and operational workflows.
- Partner with clinical, product, and safety stakeholders to define success criteria.
- Contribute to internal AI-for-engineering practices and tooling and keep the team current with research and ecosystem advances.
Requirements
- 6+ years of software engineering experience with recent, meaningful time building production LLM/ML features.
- Strong hands-on coding skills in Python; comfortable across the full stack when needed.
- Seasoned in system design for AI systems (retrieval, orchestration, caching, evaluation, cost and latency tradeoffs).
- Deep, hands-on command of modern AI coding tools and rapid adoption of new techniques.
- Strong communicator, mentor, and collaborator; rigorous about evaluation and safety.
Nice to Have
- Experience with healthcare, clinical NLP, or regulated AI deployments.
- Experience building agentic systems or production RAG at scale.

Location & Work Model
Hybrid by design: two days a week in-office (Tuesday and Thursday) in Palo Alto or San Francisco.
Compensation
Estimated salary range: $170,000 - $210,000 per year. Employees are eligible for a range of benefits and equity.
