Senior Software Engineer focused on building scalable Java-based applications and microservices using Spring Boot. The role combines traditional backend engineering responsibilities with a strong emphasis on AI adoption to accelerate development, improve code quality, and enable AI-powered application capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and microservices.
- Build and enhance RESTful APIs using Spring Boot.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and cross-functional teams across the software lifecycle (design, development, testing, deployment, production support).
- Develop cloud-ready applications following security, scalability, and reliability best practices.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps processes to improve deployment efficiency.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices.
- Leverage AI-powered engineering tools to improve productivity, code quality, testing, and documentation.
- Support innovation initiatives focused on automation, intelligent workflows, and AI-enabled solutions.
AI Builder Expectations
- Use AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, M365 Copilot, Claude, and Gemini AI for coding, debugging, testing, and documentation.
- Apply AI-first development practices to generate test cases, automate code reviews, optimize code quality, and accelerate troubleshooting.
- Partner with senior engineers and architects to design and implement AI-powered capabilities (LLMs, Generative AI, Agentic AI, intelligent search, RAG patterns).
- Build integrations between enterprise applications and AI services via APIs and microservices to enable conversational interfaces, recommendations, and workflow automation.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies, participate in hackathons and POCs, and share learnings across the organization.
- Follow enterprise standards for security, privacy, compliance, and responsible AI development.
Requirements
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on Java application development experience.
- Solid experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
- Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
- Experience with source control systems such as Git.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Good understanding of Object-Oriented Design, design patterns, and software engineering principles.
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices.
- Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred
- Healthcare domain experience.
- Experience with Kafka or event-driven architectures.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
- Exposure to AWS cloud services and cloud-native application development.
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts, Generative AI, LLMs, Agentic AI, or RAG-based applications.
- Familiarity with Docker and containerized deployments.
- Knowledge of observability tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Dynatrace, or New Relic.
