Senior Staff Product Designer • AI Projects

Role

Senior Staff Product Designer on an AI-focused product team responsible for establishing the user experience foundation and delivering innovative, end-to-end agentic experiences. This is a hands-on design leadership role that combines strategy, research, interaction design, and close collaboration with product, engineering, and AI scientists.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply design thinking to complex AI/ML/data/analytics problems and craft end-to-end user experiences that balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
• Translate abstract concepts and technical details into clear, compelling designs.
• Conduct and oversee qualitative research (contextual inquiry, prototype testing) and quantitative analysis (usage analytics) to identify trends and guide iterations.
• Produce visions, storyboards, presentations, interaction specifications, wireframes, and prototypes.
• Communicate designs effectively to leaders, partners, and customers; collaborate with product managers and engineers to deliver engineering-ready designs.
• Drive rapid experimentation and iteration within a fast-moving, high-visibility team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in interaction design, product design, or related fields (mobile, consumer, or enterprise contexts).
• Bachelor’s degree in design, HCI, or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Deep knowledge of design principles and methods; mastery of storyboarding, wireframing, and prototyping.
• Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills; experience communicating with executive leadership.
• Mastery of design tools such as Figma, Sketch, and XD; an up-to-date online portfolio.
• Comfortable with rapid experimentation, iteration, and unconventional problem solving.

Nice-to-have / Bonus: Experience applying AI/ML in product experiences, HTML/CSS prototyping skills, and familiarity with vibe coding/designing tools.

Compensation

• Bay Area, California expected base pay range: $194,000 - $262,500 (base pay). Additional compensation may include cash bonus, equity rewards, and company benefits.
