Role
Senior Staff Software Engineer in ITG Accelerated Technologies (AT) and DT&I responsible for designing, constructing, and implementing scalable distributed software and data products that enable clinical workflows and patient care. The role combines hands-on development, systems architecture, production support, and technical leadership across cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable distributed services and platforms.
- Lead integrations, requirements validation, feasibility analysis, and solution design for AT projects.
- Produce and review enterprise-level system design documentation (Use Cases, Software Architecture, Service Mapping, Consumer Guides, transition docs).
- Design and implement DevOps strategies, CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment frameworks, and change management.
- Define SLAs and non-functional specifications; ensure code quality, naming, security, and versioning standards.
- Troubleshoot production systems, provide on-call/after-hours support, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Mentor and lead other engineers; direct programming work and contribute to hiring and performance evaluation.
- Participate in technology evaluation, product selection, vendor relations, and contract negotiations.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
- Experience: Seven or more years of related experience.
- Technical skills:
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience with ReactJS, Node.js, Vue.js, NestJS, and TypeScript.
- Cloud development experience, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Data engineering experience: ingestion, transformation, feature engineering for data science/ML.
- Deep understanding of streaming and event-driven architectures and REST API design.
- Experience with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Cloud Run) and container monitoring (Cloud Monitoring, SysDig, Data Dog, AppDynamics, New Relic, Nagios, Zabbix).
- Strong DevOps, CI/CD, version control, testing practices, and Linux command line skills.
- Familiarity with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Agile/Scrum, Lean Product Development, and Domain Driven Design.
- Experience with healthcare data and technology is preferred.
