Role
Senior Staff Software Engineer in ITG Accelerated Technologies (AT) and DT&I building platforms and services to enable physician and clinician workflows. The role focuses on designing scalable distributed systems, producing high-quality modular code, driving DevOps and CI/CD strategies, and serving as a technical leader and mentor.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, construct, and implement scalable distributed software and data products
- Act as technical expert for integrations: requirements gathering, design, development, and testing
- Produce enterprise-level system design documentation (Use Cases, Architecture, Service Mapping, Consumer Guides)
- Communicate architecture using the C4 model and produce SLAs and non-functional specifications
- Build and maintain automated deployment frameworks (CI/CD) and DevOps processes
- Design DevOps strategies, change management, and deployment automation
- Troubleshoot production systems and provide after-hours/on-call support as needed
- Mentor and lead other engineers; direct programming assignments and hire/evaluate candidates
- Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)
- Seven or more years of related experience
- Strong application development skills: ReactJS, Node.js, Vue.js, NestJS, TypeScript, or Python
- 7+ years in many of the following: cloud development (especially Google Cloud Platform), Python, SQL, data engineering (ingest/transform/feature engineering), streaming and event-driven architectures
- Strong understanding of REST-based API design and service-oriented architectures (SOA)
- Experience with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Cloud Run) and container monitoring solutions
- Detailed understanding of DevOps practices and associated tools; familiarity with CI/CD and deployment automation
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Cloud Monitoring, SysDig, Data Dog, AppDynamics, New Relic, Nagios, or Zabbix
- Linux command line skills and nuanced understanding of distributed version control
- Experience with data acquisition, cleansing, parsing, and knowledge of data science concepts
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Lean Product Development, and Domain Driven Design
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Healthcare industry experience is preferred
- Required: experience with AI-assisted tooling such as GitHub Copilot, Lovable.dev, v0.dev, or bolt.new
Preferred / Additional
- Comfortable working independently and as a technical lead on multi-disciplinary projects
- Demonstrated ability to produce and review architecture and transition documentation
- Experience creating SLAs and supplementary specification documents
