Role
Senior Staff Software Engineer responsible for designing, building, testing, and deploying scalable distributed systems and data products within ITG Accelerated Technologies and DT&I to support clinicians and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a technical expert across integrations, requirements gathering, design, development, and testing.
- Design scalable distributed software and clearly communicate architecture (C4 model).
- Produce high-quality, modular, reusable code following best practices and mentor less-experienced engineers.
- Design and implement DevOps strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment frameworks.
- Provide production troubleshooting, on-call support, and escalations as needed.
- Produce enterprise-level system documentation (use cases, architecture documentation, service mapping, consumer guides) and SLAs.
- Estimate work effort, validate requirements, and participate in vendor/contract negotiations, hiring, and performance evaluations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
- Seven or more years of related experience.
- Strong application development skills with technologies such as ReactJS, Node.js, Vue.js, NestJS/TypeScript, and Python.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL; experience in data engineering (ingest, transform, feature engineering) and data acquisition/cleansing.
- Deep understanding of streaming and event-driven architectures and REST API design best practices.
- Experience with cloud development technologies (Google Cloud Platform preferred).
- Extensive experience with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Cloud Run) and container monitoring solutions.
- Detailed understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD, distributed version control, testing methodologies, and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
- Linux command-line skills and familiarity with monitoring tools (Cloud Monitoring, SysDig, Data Dog, AppDynamics, New Relic, Nagios, Zabbix).
- Experience with AI-assisted tooling is required (examples: GitHub Copilot, Lovable.dev, v0.dev, bolt.new).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong troubleshooting and mentoring capabilities.
Preferred / Nice-to-have
- Prior healthcare domain experience.
- Experience working with enterprise architecture, technology evaluation, and product selection.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, Lean Product Development, and Domain Driven Design.
