Role
TikTok is hiring a Senior Technical Product Designer for the Design Platform team in San Jose. The role combines product and interaction design with front-end implementation to deliver polished, production-ready interfaces and developer-facing experiences that help internal and external users interact with platform technologies and AI capabilities.
Team
The Design Platform team builds user interfaces and flows on top of platform technologies used across TikTok (e.g., copyright platforms, Open Platform). The team partners closely with Product and Engineering to translate technical capabilities into intuitive, usable interfaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design process from concept through delivery, including user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
- Implement designs in code (React, TypeScript) to ensure fidelity between design and shipped product.
- Work with Product and Engineering to translate complex AI capabilities into developer-friendly experiences.
- Continuously test, learn, and iterate using feedback and data to improve UX.
- Champion design quality and user empathy across product development.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, HCI, or equivalent experience.
- Portfolio demonstrating strong design principles and user-centered design.
- 5+ years of experience in product design, UX design, and front-end or full-stack development.
- Proficiency in Figma and modern design workflows; familiarity with vibe-coding tools such as Trae and Cursor.
- Fluent in modern front-end technologies, including JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
- Experience with front-end tools and libraries such as MUI, shadcn, Next.js, and Tailwind.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication skills and experience collaborating across design, product, and engineering.
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range for the listed city: $115,200 - $255,867 annually.
- Role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses/incentives and restricted stock units.
