Senior Technical Program Manager / FDE
Explicitly requires vibe coding and AI-assisted development, using tools like GitHub Copilot, Copilot Studio, and GitHub CLI to accelerate prototyping and solution delivery.
About the Role
Senior Technical Program Manager / Forward Deployed Engineer at Microsoft building end-to-end AI and automation solutions across Power Platform, Microsoft 365, GitHub, and Azure. The role partners with business stakeholders to design, prototype, and ship production-ready agents, copilots, and workflow automations using AI-assisted development.
Job Description
Role
Microsoft Business Operations - Frontier AI is hiring a US-based Senior Technical Program Manager / Forward Deployed Engineer to operate as a full-stack AI builder. The role focuses on designing, prototyping, building, testing, deploying, and iterating AI-powered agents and automation solutions that reduce manual effort and deliver measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Build end-to-end AI and automation solutions using Power Platform, Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Dataverse, Microsoft 365 extensibility, GitHub tools, Azure AI capabilities, APIs, connectors, and code as needed.
- Work directly with business stakeholders to understand workflows, pain points, constraints, and success measures; translate ambiguous needs into clear solution designs and delivery plans.
- Reimagine and simplify business processes using AI and modern application patterns; identify opportunities to agentify or eliminate work.
- Prototype rapidly and responsibly using AI-assisted development tools while maintaining a path to secure, reliable, and maintainable production solutions.
- Deliver production impact by taking solutions from concept through deployment, adoption, support readiness, and iteration; balance speed with quality and lifecycle management.
- Extend low-code solutions with full-stack engineering: build integrations, APIs, custom connectors, scripts, services, UI components, or backend logic when necessary.
- Build agents and AI-powered workflows grounded in business data with human-in-the-loop controls and evaluation metrics.
- Define and measure business outcomes (adoption, cycle-time reduction, manual effort avoided, user satisfaction, time to value).
- Apply security, privacy, responsible AI practices, access controls, testing, monitoring, and create reusable components and patterns.
- Contribute to a learn-it-all culture through demos, documentation, mentoring, and sharing engineering patterns across the team.
- Collaborate globally across time zones with business leaders, technical leaders, platform teams, and operational owners to manage dependencies.
Requirements
Required
- Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years’ experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
- Strong technical judgment, product intuition, and ability to move from discovery to prototype to production.
Preferred
- Background as a Technical Product Manager, Technical Program Manager, Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Architect, or similar business-embedded technical role.
- Passion for AI-assisted development and “vibe coding” with demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous ideas into working prototypes and carry them through launch and iteration.
- Applied generative AI experience: grounding, RAG, agent orchestration, evaluation, prompt design, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
- Familiarity with Azure AI services, Microsoft Graph, Microsoft 365 extensibility, Teams apps, SharePoint, and enterprise data integration patterns.
- Experience building full-stack internal tools, workflow applications, dashboards, agents, or automations for enterprise users and redesigning end-to-end business processes.
- Evidence of technical thought leadership through reusable solutions, demos, accelerators, or shared engineering patterns.
- Strong ability to learn new tools quickly and apply them pragmatically to business problems.
Compensation
- Typical U.S. base pay range: USD 119,800 - 234,700 per year. Alternate ranges apply for certain metro areas (e.g., San Francisco Bay Area and New York City).
