Senior UI/UX Designer
Directly tied to vibe coding—team builds with Cursor, Claude, and other AI assistants, and the designer must design to match AI-assisted dev workflows.
About the Role
Senior UI/UX Designer to own end-to-end experience across Consertus’ AI-agent-powered product suite, designing interaction layers for AI-driven workflows and translating design intent into high-fidelity UI and engineering-ready deliverables. The role is fully remote (U.S.) and emphasizes AI-native design fluency, rapid collaboration with AI-assisted developers, and stewardship of a scalable design system.
Job Description
Role
Consertus is hiring a Senior UI/UX Designer to lead the experience layer for its AI-agent-powered digital product suite. This fully remote U.S.-based role requires owning end-to-end product design—from research and concept exploration to high-fidelity UI, prototyping, and engineering handoff—while working closely with an AI-native engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end design for digital products, including research, concept exploration, high-fidelity UI, prototyping, and engineering handoff.
- Design interaction layers for AI-agent features: conversational interfaces, exception-based workflows, confidence indicators, and trust-building patterns.
- Collaborate daily with engineering, product, and advisory teams across time zones and match the pace of AI-assisted developers.
- Leverage generative tools and AI-assisted prototyping in the design workflow.
- Set and defend quality standards across product surfaces and evolve a scalable design system.
- Conduct user research to understand needs and workflows of capital program managers, owners’ representatives, and project controls professionals.
- Spend ~80–85% hands-on on design; remaining time on research, design system stewardship, and cross-functional collaboration.
Requirements
- 7–10+ years of product design experience with a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership and strong visual and interaction taste.
- AI-native design fluency: use AI tools as a core part of the workflow (generative prototyping, AI-assisted research synthesis, LLM-powered design exploration).
- Ability to work alongside AI-assisted developers (understand workflows using Cursor, Claude, etc.), communicate design intent precisely, and keep pace without sacrificing quality.
- Proven ability to simplify complex, data-heavy workflows and ship production software.
- Strong product thinking and experience defining and defending a quality bar under pressure.
- Proficiency in Figma and modern design tooling; experience collaborating closely with engineering through implementation.
- Bachelor’s degree in design or equivalent experience.
Nice to Have
- Experience designing AI-powered or conversational interfaces.
- Background in AEC, construction tech, or other complex B2B domains with multi-step approval workflows.
- Experience building or scaling design systems, motion design, micro-interaction skills, and front-end fluency.
- Startup/early-stage experience and familiarity with AI-assisted development environments (Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code).
Working Hours & Reporting
- Fully remote (U.S.)
- Reports to the CTO
Compensation & Benefits
- Compensation range: $140,000–$180,000 annually (flexible based on experience and location).
- Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, vision); company-paid life and disability insurance; optional pet insurance and supplemental plans.
- 401(k) with day-one eligibility, 3% safe harbor, plus up to 2.5% company match.
- Generous time off: 10 paid holidays and PTO starting at 15 days up to 25.
- Access to Consertus Academy for learning and development.
Context
Consertus operates at the intersection of capital program management and AI-driven digital innovation. The engineering team uses AI-assisted development tools, which meaningfully changes design speed, communication precision, and collaboration patterns required of the designer.
