Role
Senior UX Designer in Google’s Envisioning Studio (Technology and Society group) responsible for envisioning and designing next-generation AI creativity and learning experiences. You will lead design initiatives that turn emerging AI research into tangible product surfaces and prototypes, collaborating closely with engineers, product managers, researchers, and external experts across Alphabet.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design of AI creativity and learning tools, shaping design systems and interaction models.
- Utilize vibe coding and rapid prototyping to establish new design systems and interaction patterns.
- Lead major design initiatives that influence high-level decision making and long-term product roadmaps.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Research, external practitioners) to translate AI research into high-impact prototypes and product surfaces.
- Integrate user insights and co-design practices with practitioner communities to ground features in real-world needs.
- Operate across multiple product areas and often adopt a PM mindset to drive complex projects from concept to shipped prototypes.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience in product design or UX.
- Experience bringing generative AI-powered products to market.
- Portfolio, website, or other relevant work samples required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex cross-functional organization.
- Understanding of user experience design and how motion design influences UI and interaction design.
- Knowledge of Figma.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
Location & Compensation
- Preferred working locations: New York, NY, USA or London, UK.
- For US candidates the posted base salary range is $159,000 - $231,000 (base only; additional bonus, equity, and benefits apply).
