Role
As a Senior UX Engineer on Jigsaw, you will write code and build web-facing prototypes and product features that shape AI interactions and bridge design and engineering. You will work closely with designers, researchers, and software engineers to translate human needs into sensitive, reliable technical solutions and to guide prototypes from exploration to compelling proofs of concept.
Key Responsibilities
- Create innovative and engaging AI prototypes and shepherd them through development lifecycles from exploration to PoC.
- Design and implement thoughtful AI interactions that capture nuances of human collaboration.
- Act as a connector between UX design, research, and software engineering, working iteratively with internal and external partners.
- Lead by example in using AI-enabled design and coding tools and stay current with AI capabilities and vibe coding tools.
- Prepare technical documentation and demos to communicate project narratives to leadership and partners.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience in front-end development, technical UX design, or prototyping.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary UX/product teams (motion, interaction, UX research, etc.).
- Experience in software development and developing web-based applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- ~7 years of experience developing responsive, adaptive, and performant websites and applications.
- Experience and insight into the latest AI capabilities and vibe coding tools.
- Ability to collaborate across interdisciplinary, cross-functional teams, acting as a connector between design and engineering.
- Deep understanding of how technology intersects with social systems (governance, health, economic insecurity).
- Portfolio of innovative AI interaction designs.
Compensation
- US base salary range: $151,000 - $222,000 (base only; additional bonus, equity, and benefits apply).
