Senior VDC Specialist

Role

Senior VDC/BIM Specialist responsible for using digital modeling tools and workflows to improve planning, design, and execution of AEC projects. The role focuses on developing and sustaining multi-discipline 3D models (MEP, structural, architectural), setting up project base files, managing the Common Data Environment (CDE), enforcing BIM standards, and mentoring junior specialists.

Key Responsibilities

• Setup front-end project files, templates, coordinates, and client/company standards.
• Author, implement, and maintain BIM Execution Plans (BxP) and BIM documentation.
• Manage CDE configuration and permissions for design software and projects.
• Produce clash reports, manage clash detection/resolution processes, and handle point cloud files.
• Perform model audits and health checks across a portfolio of projects.
• Create automations and data extraction processes to reduce manual data re-entry; manage software automations and SSOE software library.
• Troubleshoot design software issues, research new applications/workflows, and test/roll out software upgrades.
• Facilitate BIM meetings, training, and maintain client/AE/contractor relations; provide mentorship to Specialist I–III staff.
• Collaborate with disciplines on integration with analysis applications and software interoperability.
• May require use of AI or digital technologies and occasional travel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or equivalent and ~13+ years of BIM or 3D CAD experience in a professional firm (desired).
• Advanced capability with two or more model authoring tools (examples provided: Revit, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Inventor).
• Experience with VDC applications (examples: Navisworks Manage, ReCap, Autodesk plugins such as IDEATE BimLink or Model Explorer).
• Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), BlueBeam, and SharePoint.
• Demonstrated understanding of software/API customization and experience with automation within software platforms.
• Strong communication, facilitation, meeting planning, and presentation skills; understanding of design/construction processes and delivery methods (Lean, Concurrent Engineering desired).
• Ability to work late/evening hours to coordinate with international offices and excellent English communication skills.

Work Schedule

• Split-shift: 9:00 AM–1:00 PM IST and 6:30 PM–10:30 PM IST to support U.S. offices.
• Initial month: required U.S. shift of 6:00 PM–3:00 AM IST.
• Schedule subject to change based on business requirements.
