Senior Visual Designer, YouTube on TVs

Role

You will be a Senior Visual Designer on the YouTube Living Room UX team, shaping the visual future of YouTube on TV platforms. The role focuses on evolving the TV design system and component library, advancing visual style and accessibility, and integrating AI-assisted workflows for high-fidelity prototyping.

Key Responsibilities

• Craft, maintain, and evolve the Living Room design system component library, ensuring documentation, variable consistency, and token adoption.
• Lead integration of AI-assisted workflows into the design pipeline to enable rapid, high-fidelity prototyping of visual styles and TV interaction patterns.
• Drive concept development and influence product decisions and visual style across teams.
• Defend and apply YouTube’s brand and visual identity while collaborating with product, engineering, and visual programs.
• Partner with engineering and core foundations to align design components and implementations.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 6 years of visual design experience in product design or UX/UI design.
• Experience using Figma to design, maintain, and build component libraries and design systems.
• Portfolio or work samples required.

Preferred qualifications

• Master’s degree in Design, HCI, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• ~3 years working in complex, cross-functional organizations.
• ~2 years leading design projects.
• Experience with motion design, interactive prototyping, and front-end web technologies (HTML, CSS).
• Experience with AI-assisted design workflows, vibe coding, or connecting design systems to development environments (e.g., Model Context Protocol).
• Experience designing and implementing UIs for TV platforms or smart TV devices.

Compensation & Benefits

• Reported US base salary range: $159000 - $230000 (USD).
• 15% bonus target, equity, and other benefits as provided by Google.
