Senior/Lead Forward Deployed AI Engineer-Anthropic-US East
Heavy LLM/Anthropic focus — builds agentic workflows, prompt engineering, RAG, and rapid prototypes with Claude and related tooling.
About the Role
Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer responsible for partnering with customers to design, deploy, and operationalize Claude- and LLM-powered agentic workflows, automations, and integrations across enterprise systems (notably ServiceNow). The role blends full-stack engineering, enterprise integration, prompt/RAG/agent engineering, and customer-facing solution delivery while contributing reusable platform assets and responsible-AI controls.
Job Description
Role
NewRocket is hiring a Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer to work on the AI Foundry team, delivering production-ready, enterprise AI solutions for customers. The role focuses on deploying and operationalizing Claude/Anthropic and other LLM-based workflows, integrations with enterprise systems (especially ServiceNow), and contributing to company AI platforms and reusable accelerators.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and operationalize agentic AI workflows, assistants, and automations within customer ServiceNow environments and other enterprise systems.
- Translate business requirements into technical architectures, implementation plans, and production-ready AI solutions.
- Implement Anthropic/Claude-based applications using prompt and context engineering, tool use/function-calling, structured outputs, and RAG.
- Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions and integrations that ground AI responses in enterprise data sources.
- Develop demos, prototypes, and proofs-of-concept; iterate rapidly with customers to refine solutions.
- Build integrations, microservices, scripts, and lightweight UIs to support AI workflows; ensure secure authentication, authorization, secrets management, observability, and error handling.
- Design and run evaluation and quality frameworks: test cases, datasets, success metrics, regression testing, and monitoring.
- Implement responsible AI controls: hallucination mitigation, sensitive-data safeguards, human-in-the-loop patterns, escalation workflows, and governance documentation.
- Contribute to internal platforms, prompt libraries, Agent Packs, accelerators, and playbooks to scale repeatable delivery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot integration, retrieval pipeline, prompt, and runtime issues; optimize for performance, latency, and cost.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software engineering, systems integration, enterprise platforms, workflow automation, or related technical delivery roles.
- Strong engineering foundation with hands-on full-stack development, scripting, APIs, microservices, and enterprise integrations.
- Experience building, deploying, or supporting LLM/AI-powered applications, RAG systems, conversational experiences, or agentic workflows.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Python (or similar languages).
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with modern LLM application concepts: prompt engineering, context windows, embeddings/vector search, tool use/function-calling, structured outputs, and model evaluation.
- Understanding of responsible AI principles, secure deployment, identity/access controls, and data protection.
- Customer-facing experience in engineering, consulting, solutions architecture, or professional services and the ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and business stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to travel for customer engagements (travel expectations stated in the posting).
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Hands-on experience with the Anthropic API and Claude models, consoles, or deployment guidance; Anthropic partner training or academy completion.
- ServiceNow development and platform experience (IntegrationHub, Flow Designer, Virtual Agent, Now Assist, AI Agents, scripting, CMDB, ITSM/CSM/HRSD concepts).
- Familiarity with LLM orchestration/application frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or Semantic Kernel.
- Experience with vector databases, embeddings, document ingestion/chunking, and retrieval strategies.
- Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD, SQL, Git, infrastructure-as-code, monitoring/observability, and secure cloud deployment patterns.
Location & Travel
- Role listed as remote with substantial travel for customer engagements. The posting references U.S. (US East) context.
Success in First 6 Months
- Deliver multiple secure, reliable AI workflows or integrations in customer environments, demonstrate practical Claude/LLM engineering, build trust with customer teams, and contribute reusable components and feedback to NewRocket’s AI platforms.
