Role
Software Engineer II on the Commercial Engineering & AI (CEAI) Customer Success Engineering (CSE) team. Build and manage products and services that enable Microsoft and its customers to deliver commercial solutions at scale with AI at the core.
Key Responsibilities
- Brainstorm and design solutions for business and technical problems, using AI as a partner to accelerate ideation and evaluate trade-offs.
- Design, develop, and deploy solutions to improve experiences for Industry Solutions Delivery (ISD) and Customer Experience & Success (CE&S) businesses.
- Use AI-assisted and agentic engineering workflows to accelerate development while maintaining quality, security, and reliability.
- Contribute to and curate organizational knowledge to improve copilot/agent grounding and outputs.
- Analyze events and telemetry from multiple sources, perform anomaly detection and root-cause analysis, and implement short- and long-term fixes.
- Design, build, and integrate AI-powered capabilities—copilots, agents, and generative AI features—applying prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
- Partner with peer teams to extend services and scale impact.
- Champion Responsible AI through systematic evaluations to ensure safety, security, grounding, and trustworthiness.
Requirements
- 4+ years of relevant work experience.
- Hands-on development experience with Azure resources and services.
- Experience with version control and modern engineering practices (VSO, Git).
- Comfortable with Agile development methodology.
- Hands-on experience or exposure to React and/or other JavaScript frameworks is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft technology stack and/or other languages: .NET, ASP.NET, C#, PowerShell, SQL.
- Ability to create insights from Application Insights and Kusto.
- Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot and coding agents) and use of ‘vibe coding’ is required.
- Exposure to AI Native Engineering: building with LLMs, agent frameworks, prompt engineering, and RAG is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Azure AI platform components (Azure OpenAI Service, Azure AI Foundry) and Responsible AI principles is a plus.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
