Software Engineer
Explicitly requires vibe coding skills; uses AI assistants like Copilot/ChatGPT to move fast while maintaining tests and guardrails.
About the Role
Build and deliver an AI-native, multi-tenant platform that replaces spreadsheet-driven operations with real-time dashboards, integrations, and agentic workflows. Own end-to-end product delivery including integrations, analytics surfaces, and pilot launch execution.
Job Description
Role
Mercor is hiring a Software Engineer to own core product delivery for an AI-native platform: foundations, integrations, real-time analytics, agentic tool integration architecture, and pilot launch support.
Key Responsibilities
- Ship production features across backend and frontend, owning end-to-end delivery.
- Design and implement a scalable integrations framework (connectors, event ingestion, sync, actions).
- Build real-time analytics experiences (live metrics, drill-downs, exports).
- Architect an agentic tool-use layer compatible with MCP-style patterns (tool registry, permissions, runtime, observability).
- Establish engineering hygiene: testing, observability, and on-call readiness for pilot launches.
- Iterate quickly and pragmatically while debugging and shipping with real users.
Requirements
- Strong, practical software engineering skills with the ability to ship end-to-end and self-unblock.
- Experience building SaaS products with APIs, data models, and production constraints.
- Deep comfort with integrations: OAuth2, webhooks, API pagination, rate limiting, and sync semantics.
- Familiarity with MCP-style tool interfaces and/or building tool servers.
- “Vibe coding” mindset: effective use of AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT) to move quickly without sacrificing correctness; good judgment around tests, interfaces, and guardrails.
- Clear communication skills for explaining tradeoffs and aligning stakeholders.
