Job Description
Role
As a Software Technical Lead Engineer in Lam’s Global Products Group, you will design, develop, and execute test strategies and automated test suites for desktop-based and equipment control software. You will validate releases, analyze logs, troubleshoot defects, and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure robust hardware-software integration across Lam’s etch and deposition products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies for desktop and equipment control software applications.
- Create and maintain automated test suites to improve release quality, coverage, and execution efficiency.
- Develop test cases, test data, test plans, and validation scenarios for new product features and software releases.
- Qualify new software releases, patches, and enhancements prior to customer deployment.
- Investigate, reproduce, analyze, and troubleshoot customer-reported software issues; perform log analysis, debugging, root-cause identification, and defect reporting.
- Partner with engineering teams for timely issue resolution and high-quality customer outcomes.
- Leverage GenAI tools to accelerate test case generation, automation scripting, and quality engineering workflows.
- Explore AI-powered quality engineering solutions, test automation frameworks, and intelligent defect analysis techniques.
- Drive quality improvements through automation, process optimization, and modern engineering practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, Test Automation, or Software Validation.
- Strong understanding of testing methodologies including Functional, Integration, Regression, System, GUI, and Performance Testing.
- Experience developing automated test solutions for enterprise, desktop, or control software applications.
- Proficiency in programming or scripting using Java, Python, or similar languages.
- Hands-on experience with GenAI tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT for testing and automation activities.
- Strong analytical, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of computer architecture and operating systems.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Willingness to work on desktop-based applications, equipment control software, and hardware-integrated software solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building Generative AI agents to support QA workflows and testing functions.
- Knowledge of AI-assisted or vibe coding techniques for automated test generation.
