Role
Salesforce seeks a customer-facing Solution Engineer for the Federal Public Sector to support federal missions by designing, building, and demonstrating Agentforce and AI-enabled solutions. The role combines technical discovery, full-stack solution architecture, and executive-level communication to guide customers from evaluation through production activation and adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead deep technical and business discovery sessions with federal stakeholders to identify mission gaps and define agentic use cases and success metrics.
- Build high-impact demonstrations and proofs-of-concept (POCs) using Agentforce to showcase autonomous AI agents automating federal workflows and citizen services.
- Create end-to-end technical architectures integrating Salesforce Agentic Enterprise Platform with agency security and enterprise requirements.
- Design and lead hands-on technical workshops and deep dives for agency IT leads and enterprise architects.
- Present technical solutions to executive-level stakeholders and political appointees, translating complex architectures into mission outcomes and ROI.
- Serve as technical lead for RFI/RFP responses, ensuring technical accuracy and security compliance.
- Drive activation by partnering with customers on agent definition, configuration, and deployment strategy to accelerate production readiness.
- Identify automation and process improvement opportunities and build reusable accelerators (demo environments, components, playbooks, best practices).
- Provide voice of the customer feedback into product and marketing and enable others to scale delivery.
- Leverage modern third-party development tools and AI-assisted coding to iterate on platform configurations, front-end experiences, and custom components.
Requirements
- 7+ years of customer-facing solution/technical architecture experience (pre-sales, consulting, implementation) with increasing scope and influence.
- Degree in Computer Science (B.S., Master’s, or Ph.D.).
- Proficiency with Salesforce Core (Public Sector Solutions, Sales, Service, Experience Cloud) and the Data 360/Agentforce stack.
- Practical understanding of LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation/grounding (RAG), evaluation concepts, and production behavior of agentic systems (safety, reliability, governance).
- Experience with agentic engineering tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code, Agentforce Vibes).
- Ability to run technical and business discovery, define use cases and execution plans, and communicate effectively to both developers and C-suite.
- Deep technical knowledge of multi-tier architectures, relational database design (SQL, SOQL), schema modeling, and high-scale web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/LWC).
- U.S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong Salesforce engineering depth (Apex, Lightning Web Components) and familiarity with the SDLC.
- SQL and/or Python proficiency and experience with cloud data platforms/analytics (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery) and BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
- Experience with other agent platforms and broader AI automation implementations.
- Consumption/business modeling experience and understanding of federal procurement lifecycle and public sector nuances.
- Working knowledge of Java, Python, or Node.js and modern API patterns (REST, GraphQL, Pub/Sub).
Compensation
- The typical base salary range for this position is $157,640 - $210,910 annually. A different range applies to certain locations (California, New York, and select metropolitan areas): $173,460 - $231,980 annually. These ranges represent base salary only.
