Zuora is hiring a Senior AI Engineer to design, prototype, and implement AI-enabled integrations and internal tools that connect LLM capabilities and agents to core enterprise systems. The position emphasizes high-velocity, AI-augmented development from concept to production while ensuring reliability, security, and maintainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build integrations between AI agents and enterprise systems (Salesforce, NetSuite, Slack, internal platforms) using APIs, events, and webhooks.
- Rapidly prototype and ship AI-powered internal tools, moving concepts to production with strong engineering judgment.
- Leverage AI coding assistants (e.g., Cursor, Codex) to accelerate development, generate boilerplate, debug, and refactor.
- Architect RAG pipelines and agentic workflows to provide context-aware intelligence to knowledge and operational systems.
- Parse and enhance existing Python and JavaScript/TypeScript codebases, integrating AI without disrupting production workflows.
- Implement testing and evaluation approaches for AI outputs to preserve accuracy, security, and trust.
- Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for production issues in AI-enabled workflows.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and Enterprise Architecture to align AI integrations with the broader digital ecosystem.
- Mentor colleagues on design and coding best practices, including code reviews and documentation.
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of experience as a full-stack developer.
- Strong experience building integrations with REST APIs, webhooks, and middleware.
- Demonstrated expertise in AI-augmented programming, using LLMs for development and automation.
- Proficient in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript and comfortable working in brownfield codebases.
- Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases, prompt engineering, and RAG design patterns.
- Experience designing or contributing to agentic workflows and context-aware AI applications.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
