Role
The Vision Products Group is seeking a Senior Experience Prototyper to rapidly design and build interactive prototypes that express key capabilities of future spatial, intelligence, and ambient computing products. The role focuses on hands-on, cross-functional prototyping to surface user experience insights and guide product decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Rapidly develop interactive user experience prototypes involving nascent technologies (AR, AI/ML, CV, ambient computing, IoT).
- Use Apple technologies (e.g., Swift, ARKit) and augment with other tools to express core experience elements.
- Demonstrate prototypes to cross-functional partners, technical collaborators, and leadership.
- Communicate prototype learnings, translate experience insights into product requirements and plans.
- Navigate hardware/software trade-offs and explore ambiguous, open-ended problems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with prototyping technologies such as Touch Designer, PureData, Arduino.
- Experience with IoT/ubicomp/ambient interfaces and natural UI approaches.
- Familiarity with immersive experiences, 3D math, and 3D development platforms (e.g., Unity).
- Comfortable with hardware/software trade-offs and rapid experimental work.
Minimum Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent and 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Able to build end-user applications using technologies like SwiftUI and ARKit (or similar).
- Familiar with rapid prototyping techniques, including AI-assisted (“vibe”) coding, “Wizard of Oz” methods, and embedded systems (Arduino).
- Experience building applications involving AI and foundation models, including prompting and fine-tuning LLMs and working with MCP-based systems.
- Quick to learn new tools and techniques.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base pay range: $181,100 - $318,400 (base pay depends on skills, experience, and location).
