Role
Axle is hiring a Senior Computer Programmer to work with a cross‑functional team of full‑stack developers, cloud engineers, and subject matter experts to design and build the NCATS Notebooks Hub — a cloud‑native solution for managing interactive developer environments, data analysis, and visualization applications for federal research clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Build scalable, reliable, and flexible applications in TypeScript using Node.js and Angular 19+
- Design, implement, and/or consume RESTful web services
- Implement modern, responsive web UIs for multiple device types
- Participate in agile software development: prototyping, testing, and code reviews within a small team
- Write robust unit and end‑to‑end tests
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years working with TypeScript/JavaScript
- 3+ years experience as a full‑stack developer
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking, clear communication, and technical writing skills
- Experience working in an Agile environment and attention to detail for building intuitive UIs
Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have
- Node.js
- Angular 19+
- NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
- Containers and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
