Role
Senior Director within Gartner’s Business and Technology Insights (BTI) group, situated in the Software Engineering Practice. The role produces high‑impact, research-driven insights and advises global engineering leaders on emerging development techniques—particularly low-code approaches and AI-driven technologies including agentic coding and AI assistants.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce innovative, must-have research and actionable insights on AI-native, agentic, and low-code software development.
- Develop in-depth analysis to identify root causes of client challenges and reframe thinking to drive strategy.
- Demonstrate thought leadership and establish research positions across the analyst team.
- Provide client-facing advisory via virtual and in-person interactions, briefings, and Gartner events.
- Create and deliver high-value presentations on and off stage.
- Support sales and GTM by serving as the market voice and providing sales support.
- Peer-review content for quality and timeliness and participate in research ideation and process improvements.
- Mentor and coach junior team members and collaborate across a multicultural global team.
- Represent Gartner research methodology and manage stakeholder engagement with executives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; graduate degree preferred.
- 12+ years of relevant field or industry experience.
- Experience leading teams to modernize developer tooling and experience, especially with low-code platforms and GenAI tools.
- Deep knowledge and experience with AI development tools such as AI code assistants, agentic coding platforms and vibe coding tools.
- Practical experience with low-code application tools used in professional software development.
- Knowledge of leading vendors in the low-code space and their benefits/risks.
- Executive presence and the ability to establish credibility with senior executives and stakeholders.
- Strong research, writing, analytical, presentation, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to synthesize data, apply critical thinking, and present conclusions clearly.
- Track record of presenting at both large and small speaking engagements.
- Strong business and financial acumen; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% where applicable.

- Estimated base salary range: 172,000 USD - 202,500 USD.
