Role
Senior Machine Learning Engineer on the team building the intelligent backbone of Splunk Observability Cloud. You will research, develop, and deploy core analytical components for streaming anomaly detection, predictive intelligence, and automated root-cause analysis at scale. The role includes enabling AI features using Generative AI and Agentic AI and collaborating across engineering and product teams to establish frameworks for evaluating AI trustworthiness and resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and implement scalable ML solutions for metrics, traces, and logs at petabyte scale.
- Design, build, and deploy streaming anomaly detection, predictive models, and automated root-cause analysis systems.
- Integrate Generative AI and Agentic AI capabilities into product features.
- Deliver RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) and Agentic products into production.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and product teams to define evaluation frameworks for model trustworthiness and resilience.
- Monitor and analyze telemetry (metrics, traces, spans, logs) to improve models and systems.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in computer science or related field and 4+ years of software engineering experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience.
- Experience designing and building scalable cloud-based systems (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and working with container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
- Experience with API design and frameworks (e.g., OpenAPI, GraphQL, gRPC, REST).
- Prior experience delivering RAG and Agentic products into production.
- Expert at using vibe coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Copilot, Windsurf, Cursor).
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex requirements.
- Experience developing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-native applications in AWS.
- Experience monitoring and analyzing metrics, traces, spans, and log content.
- Background in observability, generative AI, or model robustness.
Compensation & Benefits (selected)
- Posted starting salary range: $165,000.00 to $241,400.00 (U.S. / Canada reference).
