Senior Mainframe Tester performing mainframe and functional testing for enterprise applications. The role focuses on ensuring quality through functional, regression, and API testing while collaborating in Agile/Scrum teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mainframe and functional testing (TSO/ISPF, JCL, COBOL, CICS).
- Design, plan and execute tests including functional testing, regression testing and API testing.
- Develop and execute automation using Playwright (TypeScript).
- Conduct database testing using Oracle (SQL Developer), DB2 and VSAM.
- Use mainframe utilities and testing tools: File-Aid, IBM MF utilities, XPEDITOR.
- Use Postman and Visual Studio Code for API and automation-related tasks.
- Track work and manage defects using Jira and Confluence; follow Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Apply vibe coding / AI-assisted techniques in testing workflows.
Requirements
- Experience: 6 to 14 years.
- Strong mainframe skills: TSO/ISPF, JCL, COBOL, CICS (online testing).
- Automation experience with Playwright and TypeScript (courses completed noted).
- Database experience: Oracle (SQL Developer), DB2, VSAM.
- Familiarity with File-Aid, IBM mainframe utilities, XPEDITOR, Postman, Visual Studio Code.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum, Jira, Confluence and defect management processes.
