The Senior Product Manager is an AI-first product architect responsible for driving a strategic shift from third-party SaaS to internally built, AI-generated systems across CRM, marketing automation, retention, reputation, and borrower engagement platforms. The role owns vision, specification rigor, build-vs-buy decisions, vendor relationships, and executive recommendations to materially reduce SaaS spend (target: ~50% reduction within 24 months).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and communicate a multi-year strategy to reduce SaaS dependency through internally built AI-generated systems.
- Lead build-vs-buy analyses, manage vendor relationships, and negotiate contracts to recommend renewals, consolidations, or replacements.
- Author detailed, structured Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) designed for AI execution and collaborate with engineering to add technical constraints.
- Design scalable AI workflows, reusable specification templates, and architectures to enable AI to generate production-grade systems.
- Lead AI-driven product lifecycle from problem identification through AI-generated development, user acceptance testing, launch, and iteration.
- Define KPIs and measure ROI, cost savings, efficiency gains, adoption, and SaaS spend reduction.
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Data Security, Compliance, Marketing, Sales, and Operations to ensure security, compliance, and scalability.
- Present executive-level recommendations backed by financial and strategic analysis.
- Potentially hire and lead Product Managers/Product Owners as the internal product portfolio expands.
Requirements
- 5+ years in Product Management with demonstrated experience building or launching software products.
- Direct, hands-on experience using AI to generate or materially accelerate software development (AI-assisted IDEs, autonomous agents, workflow automation, etc.).
- Proven ability to write comprehensive, structured product requirements and technical specifications suitable for AI execution.
- Strong financial modeling and cost/ROI analysis skills to evaluate SaaS displacement vs. vendor renewals.
- Experience with SaaS product management or financial services (mortgage lending preferred).
- Ability to operate within regulated financial services environments while maintaining speed and creativity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and executive influence.
Preferences
- Background in startups or high-growth, technical or AI-forward environments.
- Experience with AI-enabled development environments, automation platforms, or workflow orchestration tools.
- Prior experience displacing third-party platforms with internally developed systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent experience accepted).
