Role
As a Senior Solutions Engineer at Databricks you will partner with Account Executives and Solutions Architects to demonstrate the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform, deliver hands-on evaluations, and build customised technical solutions that address customers’ data and AI challenges. The role focuses on pre-sales technical engagement, solution architecture, and driving projects to deliver tangible business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Form and maintain successful client relationships across an assigned territory alongside sales and architecture teams.
- Deliver hands-on evaluations and programming to excite customers about Databricks and integrate with cloud and third-party ecosystems.
- Build demos, reference architectures, how-tos, and demo applications to become a trusted advisor in Big Data Analytics.
- Contribute to the technical community via workshops, seminars, and meet-ups.
- Take ownership of projects, applying basic project management discipline and accountability.
- Develop technically and in pre-sales with the objective of progressing toward an independently operating Solutions Architect role.
Requirements
- Experience working with customers to identify pain points and deliver technical propositions that drive business value.
- Proficiency in at least one core programming language: Python, Java, or Scala.
- Strong builder mindset with a passion for quick prototyping; experience with vibe coding is a plus.
- Knowledge in a core Big Data Analytics domain, with exposure to advanced proofs-of-concept and familiarity with a major public cloud platform.
- Comfort answering deep technical questions and contributing to solution architecture while maintaining a business-focused perspective.
- Production-grade experience in SQL/DWH or ML/AI is advantageous.
- Fluency in German is a strong advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering projects in the retail industry.
- Prior experience authoring reference architectures and demo applications for large-scale analytics deployments.
