Role
Senior UX Designer on the Applied AI Solutions Healthcare & Life Sciences team focused on designing AI-native experiences for scientists, clinicians, and healthcare professionals. The role centers on defining and validating AI agent behavior, creating trustworthy and transparent AI-assisted workflows, and delivering prototypes and production-ready design specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design initiatives that define AI agent personas, behavioral contracts, boundaries, escalation behavior, citation and confidence practices.
- Identify product opportunities and close gaps across interoperational experiences while ensuring transparency, scientific rigor, and regulatory considerations.
- Craft and validate long-term design strategies via customer research, prototyping, and proposal artifacts.
- Design for multiple user personas (bench scientists, computational biologists, clinicians) and handle both happy-path and edge-case/error scenarios.
- Leverage and extend design systems (Trans Am; planned transition to RAD) and create domain-specific patterns and scientific visualizations.
- Accelerate delivery using vibe coding and AI-assisted prototyping tools to produce functional prototypes demonstrating complex scientific workflows.
- Conduct ethnographic studies and user research with scientific and clinical users to capture workflows, collaboration patterns, and trust requirements.
- Partner with engineering and science teams to translate prototypes into production-ready specifications and maintain alignment through regular syncs and documentation.
Requirements
- 8+ years of design experience.
- Available online portfolio.
- Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Prototyping experience in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and Ajax.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience applying Scrum to visual or UX design processes.
- Experience designing complex workflows for technical or scientific users.
