Role
Senior UX Designer on AWS Applied AI Solutions (Healthcare & Life Sciences). Design AI-native experiences and define AI agent personas and behavioral contracts for scientific and clinical workflows. Work closely with product managers, UX researchers, engineers, and scientists to translate research and prototypes into production-ready specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design initiatives focused on AI agent behavior: define roles, responsibilities, boundaries, escalation, citation and confidence requirements.
- Craft and validate long-term design strategies through customer research, prototyping, and design proposals targeting scientists, clinicians, and healthcare professionals.
- Create prototypes (including vibe coding and AI-assisted prototyping) that demonstrate complex scientific workflows and edge-case/error handling.
- Design for multiple personas with varying technical expertise and ensure experiences prioritize transparency, trustworthiness, and scientific accuracy.
- Conduct ethnographic studies and user research to understand workflows, collaboration patterns, and trust requirements.
- Leverage and extend existing design systems (Trans Am, transitioning to RAD) with domain-specific patterns and scientific visualizations.
- Partner with engineering and science teams to translate prototypes into production-ready specifications and maintain alignment via regular syncs and documentation.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of design experience.
- Available online portfolio.
- Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
- Prototyping experience using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and Ajax.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience applying Scrum to visual or UX design processes.
- Experience designing complex workflows.

Compensation & Locations
Base salary ranges (annual) are provided by location in the posting; examples include:
- Sunnyvale, CA: 156400.00 - 211600.00 USD
- New York, NY: 155400.00 - 210300.00 USD
- Seattle, WA: 137800.00 - 186400.00 USD
