Role
Senior UX Designer on the Applied AI Solutions Healthcare & Life Sciences team focused on creating AI-native product experiences for scientists, clinicians, and healthcare professionals. The role emphasizes designing, constraining, and validating AI agent behavior as a core UX artifact while ensuring scientific accuracy, transparency, and trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design initiatives that define AI agent personas, behavioral contracts, boundaries, escalation behavior, citation and confidence requirements.
- Conduct customer research (including ethnographic studies) to inform long-term design strategies and identify product opportunities.
- Prototype and validate workflows and interactions, including happy paths, edge cases, error states, and high-risk situations.
- Create functional prototypes and accelerate delivery using vibe coding and AI-assisted prototyping tools.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, UX researchers, scientists, and engineers to translate prototypes into production-ready specifications and maintain alignment through regular syncs and tracking documentation.
- Leverage and extend existing design systems (Trans Am with migration to RAD) and innovate with domain-specific patterns and scientific visualizations.
- Ensure AI-assisted experiences support user judgment, cite sources, explain reasoning, and comply with scientific and regulatory expectations.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of design experience.
- Available online portfolio.
- Experience with design tools and prototyping in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and Ajax.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience applying Scrum to visual or UX design processes.
- Experience designing complex workflows.
