Role
Senior UX Designer on the Applied AI Solutions (Healthcare & Life Sciences) team, designing AI-native product experiences for scientists, clinicians, and healthcare professionals. The role focuses on shaping AI agent behavior as a core UX artifact, conducting user research, prototyping complex workflows, and partnering with product, engineering, and science teams to deliver production-ready experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design initiatives to define, constrain, and validate AI agent behavior, including persona and behavioral contract definitions.
- Conduct customer research and ethnographic studies with scientists and clinicians to surface workflows, collaboration patterns, and trust requirements.
- Create and validate long-term design strategies via prototyping, research, and proposal documents that advocate for user needs.
- Design for multiple user personas (bench scientists, computational biologists, clinicians) and handle happy-path and edge-case/error states, especially high-risk scenarios.
- Ensure AI-assisted experiences are transparent, trustworthy, cite sources, explain reasoning, and support professional judgment.
- Leverage and extend existing design systems (Trans Am; future transition to RAD) and create domain-specific patterns and scientific visualizations.
- Accelerate design delivery using vibe coding and AI-assisted prototyping tools; translate prototypes into production-ready specifications with engineering and science partners.
- Maintain alignment through regular syncs, feature tracking documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications
Basic
- 8+ years of design experience.
- Available online portfolio.
- Experience with design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign and prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and Ajax.
Preferred
- Experience applying Scrum to visual or UX design processes.
- Experience designing UX for complex workflows.
