Role
Senior UX Designer on the Applied AI Solutions Healthcare & Life Sciences team responsible for shaping AI-native user experiences for scientists, clinicians, and healthcare professionals. The role focuses on designing, constraining, and validating AI agent behavior as a core UX artifact and delivering research-driven, production-ready designs that emphasize transparency, citation, and scientific accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead design initiatives across cross-functional teams (product managers, UX researchers, scientists, engineers).
- Define AI agent personas, behavioral contracts, escalation behavior, and confidence/citation requirements.
- Conduct ethnographic and user research with scientists and clinicians to discover workflows, trust requirements, and collaboration patterns.
- Prototype complex scientific workflows and accelerate delivery using vibe coding and AI-assisted prototyping tools.
- Design for multiple personas (bench scientists, computational biologists, clinicians) and account for happy-path, edge cases, error states, and high-risk scenarios.
- Ensure AI-assisted experiences remain transparent, trustworthy, and support professional judgment rather than replace it.
- Leverage and extend existing design systems (Trans Am, migrating to RAD) and create domain-specific visualizations and terminology.
- Partner with engineering and science teams to translate prototypes into production-ready specifications and maintain alignment through ongoing documentation and syncs.
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of design experience.
- Available online portfolio.
- Experience with visual design and prototyping tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience applying Scrum to visual or UX design processes.
- Experience designing UX for complex workflows, especially in regulated or scientific domains.
